HAUS AM BERG GUESTHOUSE Haus am Berg Guesthouse is a Satour accredited establishment and a founder member of the George Tourism association. The guest house is run by the owner and consequently, personal and friendly service is the major objective of Ulrike Ausling the German speaking Innkeeper. In summer Breakfast can be served on the verandah which overlooks the park-like garden with its very interesting creeper covered palm tree. Wandering round the garden you will find a vast variety of trees that always seem to be bearing fruit. The bird life in the garden is also well represented apart from the domestic fowl that have made the garden their home. The Koi pond also attracts the casual visitor as they enjoy a relaxing drink by the pergola. The garden fronts the beautiful Witfontein forest which leads up to the majestic Outeniqua mountains. |
| Gloucester Lodge These tastefully furnished apartments are situated within a stones throw of the Mediclinic George which is also situated in Gloucester Lane. All apartments are fully furnished with all linen provided while the apartments themselves are serviced everyday. The apartment block was originally a very big house that was built in the early 1970's The present owner Ulrike Ausling saw the potential to convert the house into seven upmarket apartments to provide furnished accommodation for business people and family of hospital patients who have to stay longer in George than normal hotel/B&B stay. All furniture, fittings, and decor was selected with the discerning guest in mind. The artwork in the form of paintings,woodcarvings, and sculptures has been collected over the years by Ulrike the Jovial owner. |
